**Rumbek, 16th May 2024** - This morning, H.E Lt. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor joined the people of Lakes State, the South Sudan People's Defense Forces (SSPDF), and other organized forces to commemorate the 41st Anniversary of the SPLA, known as SPLA Day or 16th May.


In his address, Governor Rin Tueny Mabor emphasized the crucial role of security, peace, and stability in overcoming the challenges faced by the people of Lakes State. Highlighting the rich tapestry of cultures, religions, and ethnicities within the state, he called for greater tolerance, understanding, and respect among its citizens.


The governor proudly spoke of the significant investments made in education, noting the construction of new schools, renovation of existing ones, and the expansion of teacher training programs. He acknowledged the pressing issue of road infrastructure, with many main roads in dire need of repair and upgrading.
